NCAGC will be holding Flower Show School, Course 1, at the US National Arboretum on February 1 & 2, 2019, with the exam scheduled for February 3. The US National Arboretum is truly a treasure and is located in one DC’s most exciting neighborhoods—come and take advantage of 446 acres of grounds at the Arboretum in the middle of DC and the fabulous Union Market, right nearby! We will keep you well-fed & well-focused--and busy—learning, laughing, and having a great time!
Our Judges Council is full of fantastic folks who will be there to help you and help our Instructors. Remember—everyone must now take Flower Show School Course 1 first, before taking the rest of the Flower Show School Courses. This is a great opportunity to begin the series before the busy garden club and flower show season begins. We have two top-notch, terrific instructors: Jackie Davies—Design, from the great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and Sue Kirkman—Horticulture and Procedure, from the bluegrass ‘State’, the Commonwealth of Kentucky. You will be thoroughly educated and thoroughly entertained!
So, come join us for Flower Show School in DC and learn how to think like an NGC Judge! Bring a friend! ALL ARE WELCOME! Friends who are not yet garden club members can also take the Course, but ONLY members of NGC clubs may sit for the exam!
Our FSS Course 1 flyer is available online at the NCAGC website (ncagardenclubs.org). Alternatively, if you are interested, please let our Registrar, Poss Tarpley, firstname.lastname@example.org, know ASAP and we will save a seat for YOU! If you would like, we will help you make arrangements for a hotel near the Arboretum and help you make dinner plans. (Please note: Hotel accommodations and dinners are at student’s expense!) Light breakfast, lunch, and snacks are included in Course fee. Coffee, tea, & cocoa all day! (And NO charge for fun!)
The course will be fun and educational! We will have a Q & A Wine & Cheese in December and a Coffee in January so that all students feel prepared, can ask questions, and are ready to go on February 1.
Come, join your NCA friends & enjoy a great experience--
Flower Show School, US National Arboretum & DC!
